As a two-time Purdue alumna and third-year law student at Northern Illinois University College of Law, with professional experience as a Family Case Manager for the State of Indiana’s Department of Child Services, I have spent the last decade preparing for the opportunity to become a practicing attorney. I am eager to join a team of committed professionals in 2025 who believe financial circumstances should never be a barrier to justice, and I am currently seeking a law group that embodies this mission. I will sit for the BAR this July.
My journey to law school wasn’t accidental; it’s the result of deliberate choices and commitment, which started at 14 when I became likely the youngest individual in the U.S. to successfully sue a Fortune 500 company without legal representation.
That experience ignited my passion for justice and education, ultimately leading to my pursuit of a Juris Doctor at Northern Illinois University. Instead of keeping a first dollar earned, I proudly hold my first legal settlement check—dated July 21, 2011, for $1,262.34—a testament to my drive and ability to face challenges head-on.
NIU College of Law is a gem in north-central Illinois, recognized for its small class sizes, affordability, and strong focus on clinical training and legal writing. As one of just ten law schools in the state, I am honored to be a part of its community. I am pursuing a curriculum centered on transactional law, including Housing, Insurance, Land Use and Zoning, Real Estate, Trusts and Estates, Contracts, Sales, and Family Law, achieving great academic success along the way.
Expected Graduation: May 2025
My academic journey at Ivy Tech’s Lafayette campus played a pivotal role in preparing me for the rigors of law school. Through the Legal Studies concentration, I built a solid foundation in legal principles while balancing my studies with my work for the State of Indiana. This blend of practical and academic experience culminated in earning my Associate of Science degree in May 2022, laying the groundwork for success in my legal education.
I am proud to hold the distinction of being a Boilermaker alumnus from Purdue University’s main campus, a globally recognized, world-class research institution. In May 2020, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Agriculture: Life Sciences, gaining expertise in biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics, statistical math, and research analytics.
Fueled by a passion for expanding my education, I transformed my minor into a second major and graduated in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society: Social Sciences. This degree deepened my understanding of criminology, criminal justice, forensic science, philosophy, and legal research.
As the 2nd largest homeless shelter in the state of Illinois, they play a crucial role in assisting patrons who are either facing eviction or burdened by homelessness. By intervening, they help community members maintain or regain the ability to become engaged members of society.
As a Case Manager for the Department of Child Services, I am uniquely familiar with the experiences that lead to homelessness and understand the value that an ounce of prevention can have, not just to a family, but to a community. I am experienced in Client Intake and Assessment, as well as Case Document Management. I also bring substantial experience in navigating high stress environments to bring about a calm and controlled atmosphere.
My BA in Law & Society gave me a strong foundation in ethics and a deep understanding of Legal Principles within a broader social context. I recognize the societal impact of legal decisions and their effects on vulnerable populations. My focus has been on Expungement Filing Preparation, assisting individuals in their efforts to reintegrate into society and regain a productive role
Relevant coursework and seminars beneficial to the Advocacy Clinic include: Contracts, Documentation Preparation and Review, Real Estate, Sales, Housing, Insurance, Family Law, and Expungement procedures.

The NIU College of Law retained 4 additional J.D. students for spring 2024. It was my privilege to have been chosen. We were tasked with assisting NIUs' Attorneys for the Division of Student Affairs.
I consider this appointment a vote of confidence in each of us chosen for the semester. The current student-body enrollment of NIU exceeds 15,000.
Myself and my colleagues are here to help facilitate assistance to anyone of them, confidentially, at no cost, in matters such as:
